I told them I had 6 Mbps measured at the Skybell. Basically they said the advertised upload speed required of 1.5 Mbps was wrong and Skybell needed 4mbps. I tried to talk to them about a few other issues I was having with delayed uploads and they were extremely difficult to deal with. After I got the issue resolved with my Skybell, without any help, then skybell customer service managed to get a hold of me. Since I could not get help from skybell customer service, I had to troubleshoot it all on my own.ģ. My Skybell stopped working for a week after it worked for 4 months. You might not be at home when they call back so they cannot be of assistance.Ģ. Leave a message and they will call you back in 48 hours (they say 24). You can never get them on the phone when you need it. However, here are the real issues with this product.ġ. The installation was a bit complicated and the picture quality is good. I have had this for about 4-5 months now. Don’t become angry every time a new person asks why your doorbell is flashing. Seeing the flashing doorbell every time i come to my door absolutely makes my blood boil everyday, because it seem like there is not light to this tunnel with a skybell and I just going to have to accept I wasnted $200 and buy something else. I’ve left messages that they claimed they would call back, and have had zero contact from them in any form. I’ve call their support center 3-5 times, with not one person answering my call yet. I’ve had neighbors come to my house and ask why it’s doing it, so not only does it not work, it let everyone know it too. To make matters worse, it not only doesn’t work, it signals to all my neighbors and anyone coming to my door that it’s not working. It stops working completely, absolutely everyday. I see the red/blue flashing multiple time a day. I have a high end router with 300mps speed, and nothing else has this problem in my home. I see my doorbell flashing orange at least 5 times a day, meaning it’s disconcerting from my WiFi and reconnecting. When you look at the guide that explains all the different color light and what they signal, i didn’t expect that i was be seeing all of them flashing everyday. I bought the Skybell doorbell off amazon and had great expectations for it, but they didn’t hold up. It was refreshing to hear how dedicated you were in getting your SkyBell up and running." I'm glad he had fun however the doorbell doesn't work and this has been nothing but trouble for me. My last communication with Skybell customer service was where the rep told me "I enjoyed our conversation this week as we went through troubleshooting procedures with your SkyBell. Approximate cost of removing and replacing these working components is around $500 with labour so I am reluctant to do that. The diagnosed then changed and customer service blamed all the other components and said I would need to uninstall and replace them. Given I first reported the volume issue in the first couple of months I asked for a replacement under warranty. I can't remember how many things I tried and at one point the customer service rep told me my Skybell was faulty and I would need to buy a new one. I got in touch with Support as as charming as they were they offered no solution. Most annoying! The deterioration continued and the Skybell stopped activating the indoor chimes. In the meantime I would miss parcel deliveries in particular and then have to drive to the post office. However, with the exception of the speaker defect the doorbell worked fine until just after the warranty period.Īround this time in addition to the defective speaker the Skybell started acting up, it would randomly disconnect itself and then I would have to reconnect it. That was a mistake I should have returned the Skybell then and there. In the end I decided to live with speaker defect. I just got the runaround from Support as they guessed at solutions. I was lucky because I had a friend who had been through all this and I purchased same door chime and transformer he used.ĭay 1 of installation I discovered volume on Skybell speaker when talking to a caller was very quiet and got in touch with support. Installation was tricky and required purchaser to find there own chimes and transformer. The idea of a electronic doorbell that allowed me to monitor my front door.
